Hand engraving on stone from composite material, 30 x 20 x 1,5

A broken block of white stone, like an empty page torn from a book. The word Dasein is engraved without delicacy, the marks of the tool, the traces of hesitations of the hand, the violence of the hammer blow on the chisel are visible. To grasp Dasein and not let go. To engrave it, is it to be able to possess it, to read it and to know it? To name it and write it is to make it exist? The continuity of human existence caught in time and the awareness offinitudemakes certainties vacillate. The engraving on the white stonefloats, the random shape of the break, probably resulting from a fall, forms a wing. In the hollows
